Flu Immunisation -Please call the Surgery to book an appointment
Influenza (flu) is an infectious and potentially serious illness caused by influenza viruses. Each year the make-up of the seasonal flu vaccine is designed to protect against the influenza viruses that the World Health Organization decide are most likely to be circulating in the coming winter.
The surgery holds several seasonal flu vaccination clinics on Weekdays and Weekends.
The categories below are our priority concerns. We will offer vaccinations to those not in these categories at a later date.
Regular immunisation (vaccination) is given free of charge to the following at-risk people, to protect them from seasonal flu:
- You are over 65
- You are under 65 but have been diagnosed with one of the following conditions:
- Chronic respiratory disease, including asthma and COPD
- Heart disease
- Kidney disease
- Liver disease
- Low immunity - as in those with no spleen, transplant patients, various blood disorders
- You are a main carer for an elderly or disabled person
- You are pregnant
Please contact the surgery to book an appointment for a flu jab.
