Non NHS Services
Why do we charge for some services?
There are a vast number of non NHS forms that require a doctor’s attention. GPs are contracted to the NHS to provide medical services for their patients. This is provided for free. Where the patient seeks a service that is not included within this contract, a charge will be made.
Work outside doctors’ main NHS contracts, includes:
- Reports and examinations requested by third parties (e.g. insurance reports, medico-legal work)
- Reports and certificates requested by patients (e.g. to support an application for a driving licence, letters for work)
- Work for local and central government (e.g. mental health assessments)
- Work for the NHS that does not form part of their main contract.
For most of these there will be a charge (£75.00) which you must pay in advance by cash. We ask that you allow up to 28 days for the process to be completed.
Please read the form carefully and fill in and sign any parts that you need to complete before you bring the form to the surgery.
Please do not ring the surgery unless you have not heard from us after 28 days.
