Health Visitors
Health Visitors are qualified nurses with special training in child health, health promotion and education. They work mainly with children and families.
The health visitors work with the GPs, midwives and other agencies to offer support to families and promote their emotional and physical well-being through individual and group contacts.
Macmillan Nurses
The MacMillan nurses work closely with GPs, district nursing teams, voluntary agencies and hospices providing specialist advice and support to patients and their families where life-threatening illness has been diagnosed.
The MacMillan nursing team are based within the community and can be contacted on weekdays between 9.00am and 5.00pm. Referral can be made via a GP, district nurse or hospital.
